Harness the internet to benefit your media relations
Companies and organisations need a clearly signposted press information channel into their organisation. The easiest way of achieving this is to create an on-line press office via a micro website which is linked to the main company website. They can be connected seamlessly, so that journalists are transported from one site to the other at the click of their mouse.
The website will be designed to provide journalists with a range of information, reports, papers, images and other information that is specifically tailored to their needs.
One vehicle that we find journalists like is a regular podcast, which they can download and listen/watch at their leisure. This will constitute a regular update of news and views from the company or organisation and can be designed to be as thought provoking as the company wishes.
A very recent client of Scribe’s was the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA). It comprises of 194 companies, many of whom are commercial rivals. Scribe was invited to work with the BDA after it had experienced two disastrous relationships with other pr consultancies.
The nub of their problem was a failure to create any kind of cohesion in their messaging or in providing journalists with a simple channel into the heart of the organisation.
We prioritised the creation of the BDA’s online press office and it had a significant beneficial impact on the BDA’s press relations within the first month of its existence.
